A very sad mom took care of her baby girl for two weeks after one of her twins died when they were born. Emma Woodhouse felt better when she took her daughter Jessica for walks and let her meet her other kids. She had the twins early, in June, through an emergency c-section.
Bella, one of the twins, managed to survive a very difficult birth, but sadly, her sister Jessica didn’t make it because her umbilical cord broke before she was born.
The doctors tried their best for 22 minutes to bring Jessica back to life, but they couldn’t save her.
Despite this, the mother, who already had five children, was able to take Jessica home after using a special cot that helps cool the body. She spent two weeks taking care of her, giving her baths, going for walks with her husband Paul, and letting Jessica meet her siblings before her cremation.
Emma, who thinks Jessica died to protect her twin, plans to buy Christmas gifts and a stocking for the baby.

“Being with her and her sister for those two weeks was really, really nice.
“We want to show people that it’s okay to spend time with your baby after they’ve passed away and make memories with them. This shouldn’t be a topic we avoid.
“Her face was so perfect, I didn’t want to leave her alone.
“Even though she had died, she’s still my daughter, and I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.”
Emma had a tough pregnancy because her womb is shaped differently, which put her twins in danger of being born too soon.
When Emma started giving birth at home after only 29 weeks, she had to rush to the hospital for surgery.
The doctors could save one of her babies, Bella, but sadly, they couldn’t save Jessica.
Emma’s husband, Paul, had to tell her the heartbreaking news that one of their daughters didn’t make it.
Emma said, “Finding out I was having twins was exciting because I always wanted them. But I felt strange very early in the pregnancy, and I worried something was wrong the whole time.”
During the surgery, Emma was scared, and Paul wasn’t allowed to be with her.
Finding out that she was gone was really awful. It felt like it wasn’t happening for real, like I was stuck in a scary dream.
It’s a weird feeling. On one hand, you’re filled with happiness like when a baby is born, but on the other hand, you’re crushed by the sadness of losing a baby. I was in shock for a long time.
After they heard the sad news, the couple were taken to a special room in the hospital with a special bed to keep their baby’s body cool.
Emma and Paul spent two precious weeks visiting their daughter every day, spending time with her, and taking her for walks in the hospital garden.
They even let Jessica meet her twin sister Bella while she was still in a special bed, putting them next to each other.
“Jessica gave Bella life, and we can see a lot of Jessica in Bella. Whenever I look at Bella, I also see Jessica,” Emma said.
