On Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo played a pivotal role in Al-Nassr’s 4-1 victory over Al-Riyadh in the Saudi League, showcasing his prowess in his 1,200th professional game by contributing with both a goal and an assist.
The Saudi League announced on the X platform that Cristiano Ronaldo has played in 1,200 professional matches. This achievement puts him on par with Peter Shilton, the male player with the most official appearances. Ronaldo used to play for Real Madrid.
Just past the thirty-minute mark, Sadio Mane, previously denied a goal in the match’s first minute, skillfully tapped in a cross from the 38-year-old Ronaldo, breaking the deadlock.
With an impressive tally of 16 goals in 16 games this season, the Portuguese player solidified his status as the league’s leading scorer, guiding his team to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat suffered against league leaders Al-Hilal last Friday.
“Grant me three points!” Ronaldo posted on Twitter, expressing gratitude to his entire team for reaching his 1,200th match. The journey is not over yet.
In the first half, three minutes after the regular time ended, Ronaldo assisted Otavio in scoring with a header. In the second half, Brazilian Talisca from Al-Nassr scored two goals, while Andre Gray from Al-Riyadh scored a goal for consolation in between.
