Zeb Hallock, from Corolla, North Carolina, spotted a fascinating sea creature and captured its unusual behavior on film before gently returning it to the ocean.
In the footage, the creature can be seen using its numerous hair-like cilia underneath its body to move slowly across the sand.
“We noticed starfish walking along the sandy shore near the water,” explained Mr. Hallock. “Some were in tide pools, while others were leisurely strolling on the sand at a very slow pace.”
“We carefully relocated the ones on the sand back to the ocean or a nearby tide pool. Other beachgoers were also intrigued by the abundance of starfish and joined in to help return them to the water,” he added.
