Agnieszka came across a tiny elderly cat roaming the streets all by herself in a pitiful condition. The cat was filthy and weak, and it was clear that she wouldn’t be able to survive the winter on her own.
It was believed that the cat had spent most of her life outdoors. Despite her small size hidden beneath her tangled fur, she was in dire need of medical attention. Without any hesitation, Agnieszka took her off the streets and reached out to the rescue community for assistance.
The cat, who was named Dolly Parton, was approximately ten years old. After spending nearly a decade outside, her rescuer was determined to provide her with the wonderful life she truly deserved.
Dolly was discovered roaming the streets of Italy, a place with scarce resources for stray cats. Agnieszka, a volunteer from Poland, reached out to a Polish animal rescuer named Magdalena for assistance.
Magdalena consented to taking in Dolly, and together they began organizing a journey to transport the cat to her new temporary residence.
After completing all necessary procedures such as thorough vetting, microchipping, and completing all required paperwork, Dolly was prepared to begin a new chapter in her life, filled with hope and potential.
Following a long flight and a journey to her temporary foster home, Dolly understandably felt exhausted and disoriented. Seeking solace, she sought refuge in a quiet corner of the room, attempting to unwind and process her new surroundings.
Dolly’s foster mother took care of her by preparing wet food mixed with warm water to accommodate her severely inflamed gums, which made eating difficult for her. Additionally, Dolly had a lump on her chest that required removal. In a matter of days, Dolly began to adapt to her new surroundings.
Malaika, the resident cat, welcomed her with sniffs and purrs. Initially, Dolly was a bit timid, but the presence of a calm cat helped to calm her nerves. Gradually, she started to come out of her shell and discovered a cozy spot on the windowsill where she could bask in the sunlight.
Magdalena, her foster mom, shared, “Every morning, she would wait there until I approached to pet her.”
Dolly also formed friendships with a few other foster kittens and found comfort in snuggling with them in their bed. Their warmth and companionship provided her with a sense of security.
After having her decayed teeth removed and receiving treatment for her gums, Dolly experienced a transformation.
“I could hear her purring for the first time when I gently scratched behind her ears, her favorite spot.” “It was when she began to trust us that she stopped hiding and started joining us in the living room.”
Dolly perched on a chair beneath a table in the living room, positioning herself to remain somewhat concealed while staying close to her family.
“It marked a significant achievement,” Magdalena shared with Love Meow. Upon returning home one day, Magdalena discovered Dolly comfortably seated on the sofa, nestled among the blankets. Dolly was now prepared to be more visible and open with her loved ones. “I approached her and gave her a hug. She seemed overjoyed,” Magdalena recounted.
Dolly developed a liking for resting on plush blankets, sinking into their comfort.
Before long, relaxing on the sofa with her caregiver became a regular occurrence. She would request affectionate scratches on her ears and head, and in exchange, shower her human with drool contentedly.
She salivates when she experiences joy, particularly when receiving gentle scratches on her ears. Although she is not the most energetic female in the household, she possesses a talent for indulging in peaceful slumbers.

Dolly’s life has been permanently transformed thanks to the generosity of individuals. Currently, she is enjoying the winter season in a cozy residence where beds are cozy, food is abundant, and companionship is abundant.
