Activists in the Yemeni province of Ibb showcased their response by utilizing a photograph of a deceased Yemeni citizen who was observed feeding multiple dogs at a market. They asserted that this act exemplified the utmost level of patriotism.
The man who had dedicated his life to taking care of these stray dogs was not abandoned by them even in death.
He had been known to regularly feed and care for these dogs, and witnesses observed that the dogs, who had been raised by him for years, approached him and clung to his body in a state of immense sorrow. In a poignant moment captured in a photograph, the dogs can be seen wrapping themselves around him, demonstrating the unwavering loyalty they had for the person who had shown them kindness for so long.
Upon seeing the picture of Ismail Muhammad Hadi, a Yemeni citizen, after his passing, many Yemenis expressed profound sadness. The dogs’ protective stance around him, while others gathered nearby, served as a powerful testament to the bond between humans and animals.
The Yemeni journalist, Abd al-Salam al-Shuraihi, remarked, “Profound sorrow can be seen on the faces of the dogs for those who were their companions and caretakers. Those who used to provide them with food have passed away.
This is not the whole story. There is food available on the streets for them to survive. The narrative revolves around loyalty rather than ingratitude.” The Yemeni Abdul Karim Salam observed, “Kindness is a natural trait in an ordinary individual, even if they lead a destitute and wandering life, like Ismail Muhammad Hadi.
” He further stated, “Despite his state of homelessness, poverty, and potentially increased suffering due to the conflict, he was recognized in the Al-Dalil market in Ibb governorate as the man who would feed the dogs. Upon his passing, the dogs displayed loyalty by staying close to his body, honoring his humanity and perhaps expressing a farewell gaze.
” He emphasized that regardless of being “alone and destitute on the streets, and no matter how miserable one’s circumstances may be, they can still bring joy to those around them and leave a positive impact even after their demise.”
