Similar to the beloved character in the movie “Dumbo,” there are animals born with exceptionally large ears, and this distinctive feature often sets them apart in remarkable ways. These big-eared creatures have a knack for capturing hearts worldwide and may even secure a place in the record books.
Enter Simba, a young goat hailing from Karachi, Pakistan, who is causing quite a stir in his homeland due to his remarkable feature: enormous ears measuring a whopping 54 cm, equivalent to roughly 22 inches.
Determined to make his mark, Simba is on a mission to set a new world record, showcasing his extraordinary trait to the world.
Simba, owned by goat breeder Mohammad Hasan Narejo, has garnered significant media attention in Pakistan. According to Narejo, in just a month, Simba has attained a level of fame that surpasses that of many celebrities, bringing unprecedented attention to both himself and Narejo.
“Not only has he made me proud, but he has also brought pride to Pakistan,” Mohammad told AFP.
“Within just 10 to 12 days after being born, he was already making appearances across national and international media circuits, even clinching a beauty contest victory.”
Mohammad is convinced that Simba boasts the longest ears of any goat globally and is eager to have it recognized officially. However, Guinness World Records currently lacks a specific category for “Longest Goat Ears.”
However, the owner claims he’s been actively verifying the record with Guinness: “Our application has been accepted by them. In 10 to 12 weeks, a team from the Guinness Book of World Records will visit Pakistan to measure its ears,” he informed the Times of India.
Given Guinness’s existing records for longest dog ears, longest rabbit ears, longest bat ears, and even the longest human ear hair, it seems plausible they could create a new category for Simba.
However, while he anticipates acceptance into the record books, Simba is currently enjoying his optimal life, reveling in the spotlight and gaining local fame. Special harnesses safeguard his extraordinary ears, and Mohammad takes spiritual measures to ensure his goat’s safety.
“We recite verses from the Quran and blow them onto him to ward off the evil eye,” he informed AFP. “Continuing a longstanding tradition passed down from our ancestors, we’ve tied a black thread around him, strengthened with Quranic verses.”
Reportedly, Simba is now enjoying a luxurious life in Karachi, and the owner anticipates that Simba’s fame is just starting to blossom.”
“Simba’s name from Pakistan should echo around the globe,” Mohammad stated.
Wow, what an amazing and extraordinary goat! We’re rooting for Simba to achieve an official world record and keep thriving!
